The engraver's signature H. WEVER appears incused in the lower right of the field. Around the upper periphery, a Low German (Westphalian dialect) legend reads VMME DE SAKE KVORT TE MAKEN, meaning 'To make the matter short' or 'To get to the point,' serving as an ironic commentary on the emergency monetary situation. The date 1923 is inscribed at the base of the reverse, flanked by raised dots. |
