The statue `Commonwealth`, an allegorical female figure, against the outline of the state, is accompanied with the state`s name (`PENNSYLVANIA`), the date of its admission into Union (`1787`), a keystone which illustrates its nickname (The Keystone State), the three words `VIRTUE LIBERTY INDEPENDENCE`, the motto `E PLURIBUS UNUM` at the bottom and engraver`s initials to the right of statue`s legs.
